Caps for suspension insulators serve as protective components or flexible connectors, facilitating the linkage between two insulators or between an insulator and additional fittings. Their primary role is to ensure the secure and stable distribution of electricity, particularly by anchoring transmission lines to steel towers, making them essential for maintaining a reliable power supply.

FERR Suspension Insulator Caps are robust forged or cast components designed to terminate disc or long-rod suspension insulators. These caps are engineered to handle specific load capacities and are treated with corrosion protection to enhance their durability.

These caps are manufactured in various standards, accommodating mechanical resistance ranges from 40KN to 1000KN to suit diverse applications across substations and power networks. The different design types include socket models (40KN-1000KN), tongue models (40KN-80KN), and clevis models (40KN-300KN), tailored for specific use cases.

For environments with heavy pollution or as per client request, caps for suspension insulators can be sealed with an anti-corrosion zinc sleeve. This protective coating is particularly recommended for insulators in such challenging conditions and is typically included in insulators designed for direct current lines. Tongue and clevis-type insulators are further reinforced with hardened pins and steel bolts for added reliability.
