Product introduction

FERR’s Ball Clevis serves as a vital connecting component in power line hardware, linking ball-and-socket insulator strings to other fittings. Designed for strength and durability, our clevises are manufactured from premium-grade carbon steel or stainless steel, delivering exceptional performance even under high mechanical stress and in challenging environments.

A variation of the ball clevis, known as the Y Clevis, takes its name from its Y-shaped structure. One end of the ball clevis features a ball head, while the other end is equipped with two holes through which a steel pin or hex bolt is inserted. This configuration allows the U clevis to seamlessly connect with the ball clevis.

There are two primary methods for manufacturing ball clevises. For applications requiring low tension strength, casting is used. However, for scenarios demanding rigorous strength of over 45 kN, the ball clevis is produced through drop forging.

The final step in the production process involves hot-dip galvanization by ISO 1461 standards. This enhances corrosion resistance and ensures long-term reliability. For detailed information about the ISO 1461 standard, please refer to the linked documentation.

To guarantee precise dimensions, FERR’s Quality Control department employs “GO” and “NOT GO” gauges to rigorously monitor and maintain size tolerances, ensuring each ball clevis meets stringent performance requirements.

I was most afraid of the drawings sent over to the docking is not clear, the results of FERR engineers directly with me to dock the technical details, and even the bolt hole spacing are confirmed to be very fine. Proofing out once through, no rework, too much trouble.

Our customers are very picky, especially about the thickness and appearance of the hot-dip galvanized layer, and the goods sent by FERR not only meet the standard, but also the key is that each batch is very stable, and we have never had any problems with the secondary inspection.

We started out with just a couple samples to try, and they turned out to be so much better than what we were using before. The dimensional accuracy, surface finish are all spot on and the delivery was fast. Now every time I have a project I go to FERR first, with confidence.

I've used quite a few suppliers, some quotes are cheap but with lots of problems.FERR is not the cheapest but they are really the most hassle free. Design coordination, delivery time, packaging details can think ahead of me, I save a lot of energy.
